Many of our supporters and fosters are snowbirds who go back to the US and Canada for the summer. The few of us who remain here face 100+ temps and steamy humidity. Not for wimps.

That doesn't mean the rescues have come to a halt! In the past month we've taken in three puppies (see Adopt Me) and have facilitated a couple of adoptions. We could use a break, but we get a call every couple of days about another dog or puppy in dire circumstances, like Joey (photo). Summer is hard on homeless dogs, and when we take them in they often have special medical needs caused by malnutrition, humidity and the heat.

But the good news is that we also continue to hear from people who see our rescue dogs on Facebook, and want to contribute donations of food, toys, bedding and cash. Thank you so much for helping us make a difference in their lives.
