Earlier this year we held a yard sale at Solimar to benefit the Pet Adoption Center and it was amazingly successful so we decided to put on another one on April 6, this time in Wade and Jonni's big back yard in the Caracol Turistico. It starts 8am (and we've got a gate this time to hold back the early birds!) and ends mas o menos around 2. One of our board members recently sold her Tucson house and has brought a whole houseful of furniture and appliances down, donating everything to the yard sale so it's going to be a pretty exciting sale!

The annual Nuts for Mutts Walk might have been better-attended if not for a giant free breakfast complete with Bloody Marys taking place across town. But we had a good turnout of folks with their dogs and new games to make it fun! Here, the Egg & Spoon Race, and the Pawcasso painting session. The best part was that the adoptable pup we brought found a new home!

The barbecue Nov. 15 brought in a great crowd to enjoy Larry St Onje's famous barbecued ribs and the music of Mexmo, Bob and Leslie's Sahlen's popular band.

Then on Saturday, Nov. 24 a Wine & Cheese tasting at the San Carlos Yacht Club contributed half its proceeds after expenses to SBPA, the local spay/neuter organization, and half to the Pet Adoption Center! It was an unexpected windfall and we were very grateful to John of Will-Yum's boat charter for putting on this event.

Next up: a Photos with Santa opportunity on December 14-15, at the Plaza Arrecifes Center (see poster, on our home page) for details. Dress up your pooch(es), bring kids too!

Meanwhile, even without a location for our Center, we have been rescuing, fostering and arranging adoptions for a number of dogs. But our eyes are on the prize: a property we can call our own, where we can house and rehabilitate and care for more dogs.
